| Preparing for the GMAT Verbal
As a microbiologist and a native Chinese speaker, Haidong Zheng realized early on his verbal GMAT preparation might need to go beyond the traditional test prep course he had signed up for. So in September, while taking the course, Zheng started a Google group, called i-GMAT study, with 10 other non-native English speakers who were also taking the test. There members discussed the assumption-based critical reasoning questions as well as tricky reading comprehension questions. .

Current Issue:
Nine months ago, my roommate and I made a life-changing decision. He'd heard about it in one of his communication classes during a persuasive speech that would prove to be more influential than the speaker could have ever imagined. We did our research, to be sure. Our friends gave us hesitant but encouraging advice - after all, people our age don't normally go in for this sort of thing, and it's hard to offer guidance on topics with which you have little experience. We pored over the vast online resources. Who would have thought there would be so much information out there regarding a new little addition to our apartment? Finally, we got a little tipsy and decided to go for it. We heard back from our Internet-based benefactors the next day. Our supplies were in the mail, they said, and we should try to do some reading before they arrived.
Saturday School approved
Students who refuse to complete their assigned lessons may now face a punishment that will cut into their weekend plans. Director of Schools Donny Haley presented White County Board of Education with an alternative for students who refuse to do work. The objective of instituting a Saturday School program is to ensure every student completes every assignment, and to help reduce failure rate. Students who do not complete their weekly assignments will be assigned to Saturday School each week. The school will be 8-11 a.m, every Saturday. Students will attend until the work is complete. All work will be graded, and a grade will be issued by the assigning teacher. Students who miss Saturday School will be given all assignments on Monday, and parents will be required to pick up the assignments.
